This coming weekend, Asheville holds its annual Labor Day Downtown Festival of the Arts. It’s held Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM, and is only 30 minutes from us!
With the variety of artists participating, it is a great way to reconnect to art and culture, but also presents the perfect opportunity to find that special Christmas or birthday gift, or maybe just something special for yourself! 🙂
Held in historic Pack Square in downtown Asheville, you can park in one of their downtown lots, (we like the Aloft Hotel lot), or, for some extra fun, why not park free at the Asheville Visitor’s Center at 36 Montford Avenue and take the Gray Line Trolley Tour through Asheville. You park free at the Visitor’s Center, the tickets are $31/person, which gives you 2 days of trolley use. One of their stops is Pack Square, so you can get off, enjoy the art, get that special gift and then get back on again when another trolley comes by. It’s a great way to get the big picture of the town, with local guides sharing their knowledge of Asheville’s history, architecture and local offerings. With 2 days to use your tickets, you’ll have plenty of time to get off and enjoy all of the other stops along the tour the second day, without having to worry about where you will park. If you like to walk, it’s doable from the VIsitor’s Center too. Just remember, if you’re doing some shopping, you’ll also be hauling packages on the way back.
Not able to visit this weekend? No worries, our downtown Waynesville art galleries offer great opportunities to find that perfect gift every day! No festival required!
